A Brand New Inventory Management System for BVL
A division of Bank and Vogue Holdings, Bank & Vogue Limited (BVL) buys, sells, and transports quality used goods including clothing, shoes, books, toys, and household bric-a-brac. The company stores used goods, in bulk, in warehouses throughout North America before they are shipped to domestic and international customers.
In spite of its sophisticated global supply chain, BVL was keeping track of its inventory with Excel spreadsheets – a system that had carried through from the company’s earliest days. It was clearly time for an upgrade!
We’ve worked with BVL for many years on a number of large projects: they turn to silenceIT for all of their web design, web marketing, and back-office automation needs.
Our solution offers multi-location inventory management and general ledger accounting, to accommodate BVL’s widely dispersed suppliers, warehouses, and customers. The system creates and accepts digital purchase orders, with on-the-fly inventory input of one-off items. Low inventory levels automatically trigger reorders for each location, and redundant item entry is eliminated with the import of CSV files.
An iteration currently in testing will integrate BVL’s new inventory management system with POS, to automatically receive and input sales from purchase orders, with precise inventory adjustments at all locations.
